About

Mission

       WHY I BECAME A COUNSELLOR:
  • A desire to help others: Like many in this profession, I felt a deep calling to support others during difficult times. To try to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives by providing guidance, understanding, and compassion.
  • Personal experience: Having experienced challenges like trauma and loss myself, I benefitted from seeking out counselling. This inspired me to help others facing similar situations.
  • Empathy and strong listening skills: I have a natural empathic manner and the ability to listen without judgment. I felt drawn to counselling as a profession, where these skills have proven highly valued and impactful.
  • A fascination with human behaviour: People who are curious about psychology, relationships, and what motivates human behaviour often pursue counselling as a way to explore these interests while helping others grow and heal.
  • Wanting to promote mental health: Counsellors often want to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and advocate for emotional well-being, creating safe spaces for people to talk and heal.
  • Fulfilment and reward: Counselling is a deeply rewarding career. Helping someone navigate their struggles, develop resilience, or make positive changes has provided me with a strong sense of purpose and achievement.
  • Desire for a meaningful career: In a world where work can often feel impersonal or routine, counselling has provided me with a path to work directly with individuals and have a positive, tangible impact on their lives.
  • Career change: Becoming a counsellor was a second career for me. I am now grateful to be aligned with such a rewarding profession that focuses on emotional well-being and helping people.
